Data deletion instructions

This page explains how users of Smokoff (mobile apps and related services operated by 9554-5133 Québec inc.) can remove personal data we hold about them. It is provided to meet platform requirements (including Meta/Facebook developer settings) and to support your privacy rights. You may delete your data in two main ways: from the app (recommended) or, if you need to, by e-mail to us.
1. Who can use this process
Anyone who created a Smokoff account or otherwise provided personal
information through our apps or

may request deletion, subject to verification and any legal
exceptions (e.g. records we must retain by law).
2. Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to remove your data is in the Smokoff app:
- Open the Smokoff app on your device.
- Go to Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion.
After you confirm, we remove your data as described in section 4 below. Deletion in the app is completed immediately upon your confirmation, subject to our systems processing the request (see section 6).
3. Request deletion by e-mail
If you cannot use the app (or need a written request), send an e-mail from the address associated with your Smokoff account to:
Use the subject line: Smokoff data deletion request.
In the body, include:
- The e-mail address you use to sign in to Smokoff (if different from the sender).
- A short statement that you want your account and associated personal data deleted.
We may ask for additional information to confirm you own the account before we delete data.
4. What we delete
When you delete your Smokoff account, we permanently delete:
- Account credentials (e-mail, password, OAuth links)
- Profile (display name, avatar, about me, location)
- Smoking profile (quit date, spending, etc.)
- Diary entries and quit reasons
- Breathing session data
- Chat messages and read states
- Friendships and friend requests
- Push notification tokens
We may be unable to remove data that no longer exists or is held only by third parties; use their settings where applicable (e.g. Google, Apple, Meta, Firebase).
5. What we may keep
We do not retain your personal data after a completed account deletion. We may retain anonymized or aggregated statistics (e.g. total user count) that cannot identify you, as permitted by law. We may also keep certain records where the law requires retention.
6. How long deletion takes
In the app: Deletion is completed immediately when you confirm, as our systems process the request (in line with the categories in section 4).
By e-mail: We aim to respond and complete deletion within a reasonable time, typically within 30 days of a verified request, unless a longer period is allowed by law or we need more time for a complex request (we will let you know).
